My cars only go to Hatfield  I went past there this morning to get some G13 and Morne wasn't there, which is a first as he normally opens and closes the place.

Easy answer. Directly connected to your right foot and heavier than the i10. If consumption is a major concern then that is the wrong car.
But I always say work on around 10km/l and you would be safe as an average. It will use more in heavy and city use and be lighter on the open road.

Yip, the cause was supposed to be a leaky thermostat, I had it replaced three times and still lost fluids... Radiator replaced last week!

I must say I understand the severity of low coolant but I think that the info message completely shits itself for a very small volume of missing

Thanks, I'll get the dealership to look at it next week, the warning is a tad excessive especially driving at night

Correct, Waterpump / Thermostat needs replacing.

Had the same one mine at around 65,000km. Got the red coolant warning, stopped, found that there was hardly any coolant in the expansion bottle.

You do have to drive it once in a while.

Bumping this thread, car went in for service this morning. Coolant warning light came on, says its the waterpump, thermostat was replaced last year May.
Hoping the leaking waterpump didn't damage that.

It is a single housing that houses the pump and the thermostat. But a leaking pump should not cause damage to the thermostat.

Thanks for confirming this for me sir, I'm being told currently that the leaking pump may mean a replacement thermostat. They haven't even sorted the waterpump as yet and its been there since yesterday @ VW.

My mate just got his G7 Gti back after it had a leaking crankshaft seal. He also had a thermostat failure and I think he's Mechatronics is on its way out. The car is on 70k odd kilos.

Update: I have been contacted by the dealership (albeit 3 days later ) to advise my vehicle will be ready today. Panic was correct and they advised there is no damage to the thermostat just ' coolant residue' on it.
I have a long drive planned as soon as I pick up the vehicle as well.

Other than the thermostat and this waterpump, which I see are common issues I have had nothing else except the brakes which needed replacement.
I've had the vehicle just about 2 years now.
