Reputable Panelbeater

Post by Junz »

Looking for a good panel beater around Sunninghill/Kyalami/Woodmead/Rivonia. If anyone can recommend one?

I only use Artistic Autobody or Greenstone Panelbeaters for private work but they aren't those areas.

The one in Kya Sand? Definitely not for a private job in my books! Not even an insurance job, but at least you can get insurance to fight them
Let's see:
- repair section charged for, but not actually done (just repainted and trim replaced, only discovered much later)
- paint badly off colour (told they used the paint code and that's how it is)
- prescription glasses stolen from car (my bad for leaving them of course)
- using glue instead of bolts to mount trim (told it'll hold just as well)
- trim painted pealed after a few months
- spoiler glued on skew (corrected on second visit)
- underside of tailgate has parts barely paint with primer showing through (corrected second visit)
- rear wiper set at 15 degrees off horizontal (corrected second visit)
Obviously a lot of quality checking done before hand over.

They repaired the rear of my B6 A4 Avant which was done bloody well! I have also seen some of their full stripped down paint work which was great. The owner, Barry, is a car nut and pays attention to detail and is an all round great guy. I'll find the link on carforums to the Trans Am he did a short while back, it is stunning!

I have read the original post now about 2048664562788 times I still don't see where he asks for it to be private work. But anyway that was only panelbeater I know in the area he requested.
Wayne the owner of elite autobody used to race in challenge with us. They sometimes have work that is absolutely amazing and they sometimes have work that is not. But they will almost always fix issues when you point it out.
And the same counts for most decent panel shops.

Pleasure. The thread on the Trans Am, they had issues with the paint but got it right in the end...
