Dash cluster showing 'immobiliser active'

Howzit guys, i got an mk5 gti 2008 model and my problem.with it is that when it feels like not starting it just doesn't and on the dash it shows 'immobiliser active' and after a while maybe an hour or two it eventually starts, what could be an actual reason for that? Thanx guys!

Maybe it is something to do with the key recognition thing surrounding the ignition? Try and get it scanned with VAGCom, for errors. You try spare key?

Thanx guys, other thing inhave notice also and i am.not sure if it might be weather related, when it's hot or warm weather outside and my dash board become exposed to sun, it won't start at all but after the sunset and the dash is bit cooled out it eventually starts...
