Guys I have rounded it down to these tyres.
Whats the best option

Majority of guys, have good things to say about Good Year tyres.

Pirelli p zero - probably the best tyre I had in the wet - reasonable life, reasonably noisy
Conti Sport contact 5/6 - probably the best tyre I had in the dry - short life, Very quiet and comfortable
GY asymmetric 2/3 - good all round tyre, Not as good as the above - better life than both

Yoki's s-drives, They okey grip wise, and they last forever, But ive had 2 sets that cracked the side walls

Just replaced a damaged GY Asym tyre (3 others OK) with a set of x4 Cont Sport 5 (no GY's available). Agree with above, having used both. On my second set of Conti's now.

Continental tyres has a good balance between traction, comfort and distance.
I prefer them any day.

Hi Guys, another twist in the selection. Apparently the Pirelli P7 is W rated and not Y rated tyres.
Y RATED tyres = 300Km/h
W RATED tyres = 270Km/h

So my budget is R1800/Tyre

Please help to select a tyre on a G7 Gti PP

You do get the p7 in Y rating. Not many dealers stock them though and they quite a bit more. I have the W. Rated ones on my Audi.

They not too bad. Reasonably quiet. Mine's still looking good after 25000 kilos. Should get another 25k outta them

In that budget, you limited to:
Conti Sport Contact 5
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3

Between the two , I'll choose the Conti's , be aware that Conti's dont last long but they grip like hell even more when warmed up.
As long as you maintain the correct pressure, you'll get the most out of the tyre - Aside from potholes - This is the reason for premature tyre life , tread flaking and sidewall damages

Fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym 3,
I have done about 1000km with them.
Finally had hard rain yesterday, so I could really test the tyres.
Conclusion
The tyre is a great all round tyre in the dry in the wet I would give it 9/10.
Noise is way better that than the Bridgestone Potenza S001.
Shopped around for the tyre,
Tiger Wheel R1950
Tyres and More R1900
I paid R1630.00 Fitted at Bluff Tyres in Durban.
So if you need to replace tyres on your Golf 7 GTI, I can confidentally recommend the GY Eagle F1 A3

Go and get them fitted.

Hi guys I need assistance on Software for my G7 GTI PP,
I was doing some research on the Plug and Play units.
Can anybody recommend a reliable service provider with regard to this.
has anybody installed a unit and what are gains and positives and negatives
Does it not affect the warranty?

Please help.
