Golf 5 GTI: Low Oil Pressure. Please Switch Off Engine

Hi Guys,

So recently I was presented with this error. It happened once, disappeared after a few seconds and it happened in the same manner again a week later. I checked my oil level both times and it was fine, above 3/4. Anyone experienced this problem before? Know why? and how was it fixed? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

Mine popped up recently.. it was only low oil level.

Check your oil pickup - Could be blocked by sludge, a cheap fix. Last resort is the oil pump itself...

The problem might be that you have no oil pressure. Does it sound clattery when you rev it.
Until you find out if it really has no pressure don't even start it - nevermind rev or drive it.
Oil pump is a coomon failure and there ar some others too - like fail thrust bearing, which then falls into the pump and kills it.
