Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has a 1995 citi shuttle. He has just filled up his tank and an airbubble or vacuum of some sort has got into the system. The a/c fuel pump is working fine but when the bubble creeps up it is working overtime to try and get the fuel in. Do you guys know of anyway to try and get rid of this vacuum without removing the pump.

Thanks

Eren

Hey BL,

My girlfriend had the same prob with her shuttle, would fill da car up & den it would struggle along, cutting out sometimes.

The problem is that there is a vacuum, not sure how its caused, but that was the root of the problem. Fixed it by drilling a small hole into the fuel cap, to get rid of the vacuum. Since then, theres been no problems!!

Not sure if its the best way to fix it, but it worked anyway. Hope this helps

Hey guys

If drilling a small hole in the fuel cap helped, the problem is most likely that the tank overflow/breather pipe is blocked. Clearing the blockage from this pipe should solve the problem.

I have the same problem. My machie checked and cleared the breather pipe and I still have the problem. My sisters Mk1 also had the same thing and it was the gravity valve that was stuffed. the previous owner of my car, tryed to be a cheap ass and took the rubber seal off the fuel cap so evertime I fill up, petrol pours out of the side of the car.
