Would it just not make more sense for me to save up some more cash and then buy something else wher the filters last longer, save cash in the long run... Or just take the vwr at this price.

Kill it with fire NOW!

Rather spend your money on software first then take it from there.
Another thing to consider is not all brands of software are compatible with all intakes something else to consider.
Evoms, ITG, Revo, Stealth ATOM, KF, CPI are some of the more common TFSI intakes used.

EVOMS, ITG or Revo Intakes.
Not sure if anybody has tested the TFSI Stealth Atom 2 with Revo SW

@R1750,..Contact Phillip first. (PM Sent)

You might just spend extra few bucks for a new one with KNN Filter.

I had APR Stage2 software on the car and it was running very strong. Unfortunately the coils went while on Holiday Durban. Flash car back to stock file send car to VW to replace COILS.

One day I will reload SW, but for now I am happy just as she is.
NO issues!

As already mentioned stick with EVOMS, Stealth etc. I had an ITG Maxogen on my car but sold it as due to the sponge filter then tend to disintegrate over time. I love my EVOMS and I got it at a great price. Be patient and buy a second hand one bud

All well and good Evoms and the likes have developed a good name for themselves. Can the owner/s of the KF CAI Pleeeeeaaaassseeee Log it and compare it to other intakes like Evoms etc? Please :) then the guys who have experience with intakes and so on can evaluate it and provide an analysis on the product???

Who knows, this may be just as good as the bigger brands at a fraction of the price....

On a side note do KF do a "closed" intake like the carbonio systems for instance. While the Evoms to me is a great product it is too noisy for me in my older age, I want an intake now that flows decently but does not make Fast and Furious noises in all driving conditions

I am sure they do,..I preferred the open one as I wanted the Intake/chooo choo choo sound :driving:
But also you can here the Turbo Spooling up, I like it where others would prefer the closed direct feed one.

At the time the k04 evoms on my GTI was great, it just was very noisy even if you were just driving nice and relaxed, the darth vader effect started iritating me. Also anyone who drove in my car for the first time thought the car was broken

IMHO the ITG is louder than the EVOMS.

Shaks112 wrote: Tue Aug 12, 2014 8:48 pm Hey guys,
I've recently bought a Mk5 gti and done the downpipe. Could any1 advise me on what cold air intake would work best. And wher I could purchase it from at a reasonable price.
Hi Guys,

Reviving this thread as I'm in a similar position. Recently installed a downpipe, looking for a cold air induction kit. Any suggestions on which one to go for and where to buy it? Not really wanting to spend R5k. Looking at spending about R2500.

I see Tweek Performance have a foam cone on their intake kit - the reviews seem good but apparently it doesn't really increase the noise level - I'd prefer some good noise :)

Any suggestions?
