I am looking at putting a set of 19 inch Helios on my Mk4 GTi...

What do you guys think, and most importantly, would they fit?

Either going to have to run adapters or redrill wheels.

Yebo. Someone posted a pic with a 6R owner that was selling a set with tyres for R10k. Think the guy realised that the 19'werent gonna allow him to turn his car.

Despite it really been overdone...I would do it. For me there is no other rim that looks better.

Except maybe a Citi. I havent seen one with it, but I dont think the square lines will work with the Helios.

Yeah, hard to beat the value for OEM rims, and I really love the look of them, only thing putting me off currently is cost of new tyres, and not being sure on the rubbing issue.

If you put Helios I want your rims. Like the understated styling...

what is the recommended tyre size with Helio rims on a Golf 6 with H&R 35mm drop?

everybody says 225/35/19 or 235/35/19 with rubbing and no rubbing.

the 225/35/19 tyre profile is too low profile for my liking.
235/35/19 tyre looks comfortable, but will probably have to roll the fenders.

225/35/19 is a closer match to the original diameter of the stock GTi wheels and tyres. Not sure if the 1.4TSi has the same total diameter wheel and tyre though. As you say, more chance or rubbing with 235/35s

the tyre sidewall of each tyre brand is different, some are smaller or bigger in profile size. This also plays a factor in choosing the tyre size.

from what i have seen 225/35/19 yokohama s drive have a nice think side wall compared to archilles tyres.

235 will rub with a drop and 225 wont. 235 fits alot better on the rim to be honest. I have 235's on mine so does rub now and then but my car is std

I think the 225/35/19 is a bit of a stretch for the Helio. When i got mine, i put on 225's on the front. Looked good, but was paranoid. 235 is the best for this rim
