Flare and Rolls and round arches for MK1

Hi Guys

I have been searching for a decent panel beater who can assist me with flaring and rolling the arches.
I am having difficulty in this as the guys who I think are doing a good job want 4k, and the guys who are willing to charge around 2k and do a decent job dont have the time to do my car.

So i ask the multitude, can any of you point me in the right direction.

My car has a 60mm drop with gabriel shorten shocks and rides on 17" rims, the front tyres are sitting just under the arch and is rubbing a little.

I want to roll and flare the arches, slap on a set of decent 15" x 8J and ground the car more.

Moved to the correct technical section as this is not detailing related

4k still sounds pretty cheap to me. It's a ton of work to do right.

15x8's with the right offset will fit without any flared arches.
The right tyres help too

I can confirm

Stiffer dampers and you will have no rubbing at all on the 8.5J

Sweet ride...
So the bottomline is 4k is a good price.

I just needed some clarity before dishing out cash for a job you guys might think its cheaper to complete.

What stiffer dampers can i fit so that there is no rubbing?

I a little new to the modifying scene so I would appreciate all and any help

Get the rim's and a set of 175/50R15 Tyres and see if it rubs.

If it does you need dampening adjustable shocks/Coilovers or a custom made shock from the likes of Ian Glass in Capetown.

make one, you can use a golf1 jack as well or fab one as in picture,
if you use the golf1 jack, take of the swivel foot, weld on a ring on that fits your wheel pcd similar to one on picture, strip of the swivel head on the top and weld mount a adjustable poly roller on in the swivel place and off you go

Ok hang on....There is a huge difference between rolling the lip flat (what you guys are talking about with coke bottles etc) and actually flaring an arch.

Flaring requires cutting, welding, body work, filler and paint. So 4k for that seems good yes.

with this device you can roll the lip and stretch the fender a bit, can put quite a bit of force to it, we did some golfs and with 60 drop it clears the tyre side with about 10mm after rolling, just remember if you drive, turn sharp and hit a bump it will rip. it all depends how big you want to flare it and also you will find that 99.9% golf1 ain`t the same on fender gap between driver and passenger side, they differ a bit

I agree with Roadhawg, Flared and rolled is not the same
and it takes special wheels to make a flare work

I want the arches flared and rolled, I want the arch pulled out slightly and rolled to remove the "flange line", it must be completely round, I am removing the 17" and slapping on a set of fat 15"x 8J rims(Lenso BSX with extended lip). it should fill the new arches perfectly
What is the contact details for Rudy. I am driving down in 2 weeks, would prefer to do it before that though.

For the wheels you fitting you shouldn't need to do any arch work IMHO
