I think you images speak mountains already. I appreciate any feedback and advise from those who have the experience.
If I go 272 - middle ground with some lumpiness (which I actually want, love that idle but not too much like I would get from 276)
am I able to just run the cam without vernier (fueling wont be the best I believe) or would it be more sense to get the vernier.
I cannot afford a chip now to sort the fueling to the best but the standard management should be up to the task right?

It will be Ok-ish. Vernier does nothing for fuelling and is only there to FIX timing issues if you cannot set it to zero - like if the head was cut.
