Polo 6R Thread

Hi

I got kicked out of the official Polo thread :( since it was mostly 9N and 9N3 vehicles.

Im new to the forum as a poster. I have been browsing the forum for about 6 years or so. I wanted to link up with fellow 6R owners to share experiences, ideas and feedback on products and the vehicles.

By way of introduction, I am based in Durban. I recently acquired my Polo 6R 1.4 Comfortline (last week).Black in colour with Panoramic Sunroof, red leather interior and dark tint. I am waiting for my wheels to be ready (hopefully tomorrow  ). I am fitting on a BBS RX2 2 piece split rim 16inch taken off a Golf 4 GTi. Face is being sprayed gloss black and the studs and lip high polished.

A drop is on the cards as well. Probably going to get the VW Eibach 30mm drop (thanks Dookie77 for info and pics).

I also owned a 1990 VW Fox. My sister has inherited it. Its candy red with the back end rebuilt to accomodate the Velociti Lights, as well as a shaved bootlid.

Ive had my 6R for a week and I am loving it. Havent been able to fault it yet. Very comfortable ride and it definitely grabs some attention with the roof open.

Any comments welcome.

Did you start the 6R GTi thread. I been browsing there but the thread is more GTi specific. I did find some interesting info there. I thought it would be nice to have a non GTi 6R thread,. Unfortunately I couldnt make the jump from a Corsa Lite to PGTi, hence the Comfortline. Im still loving it though, as Im sure all other 6R owners will agree.

A few tuning companies are able to tune the 1.6 TDI's Via the port, with a 20kw and 40nm increase in power! not to shabby

So no software upgrade or aftermarket computer box neccesary? I assume then that warranty is all good afterwards. That gain is not bad at if its just harnessing potential of the stock bits. Any idea if any tune like this available on the petrol variants. My first thoughts are no because there is less to play with in the petrol variants due to an absence of turbo.

Yep so not easily detectable. I will agree with you on that one, the gains are too minimal on N/A.

Just something weird I noticed with the panoramic sunroof. Sometimes when closing it it decides, "no i dont want to close yet" and will close fully, then re open again. Has anyone else experienced this or know why it does this. It is not all the time, but i think it could be annoying if i am in a rush to get out the car and the stupid thing wants to stay open.

6R TDI and GTI ECU uses the same process to flash. you will have to remove the ECU and unlock it first then only can you flash it via OBD port.

Oh ok my bad  , on the vwgticlub wulfchiptegnik said tuned directly via obd, but i read now on this club that they had to remove ecu
