Polished stainless. looks really good.

Its the full downpipe right to the rear secton, includes one rear box to make it a bolt on.

Very very tempting. I think it will compliment the SW very well. Oh yes and an intake and intercooler.
:iagree: the dp is porn!

dude what power are you making with those mods??
Im really keen on the dp, but... i dont have sw so ill have the CEL issue...

You can still fit a downpipe.....

can clear the code with vagcom or install a spacer that fools the lambda sensor.

No updates for me, the car seems to be running very well. Fuel consumption has improved drastically now. Ill dyno it on the weekend and see if it gained any power.

The pistons were too small for the bore so they changed them to some new pistons, rings n bearings. It was changed as the car consumed too much oil and it had intermittent misfires at high RPM's, lucky that gets logged on the ECU so I didn't need to prove it.

Another friend of mine just dropped piston 3 on the weekend

I'm guessing when they were engineered and designed, they had "driven hard" in mind, they not quite targeted at the 30+ Market.
But just like all new motors a manufacture produces they will encounter problems.

True, teething problems are part of it i guess. Even the big boys at BMW have problems, so much so they recall over a million cars...

1.4l TSI (103/125kw) Engine with Dual-charging

Saved here: http://www.vwclub.co.za/phpbb3/viewtopi ... 5&t=138067

Piston:
The pistons are made from diecast aluminium. A combustion chamber recess with a deflector has been worked into the piston base. This leads to a strong swirling of the intake air and thus to a very good mixture formation. The outlet side of the piston is cooled with a piston cooling system. The jets open at 2.0 bar. The friction of the piston package has been reduced by a graphite coating on the piston skirt and a greater skirt-to-wall clearance of 55 μm. The piston pin diameter has been increased from 17 to 19 mm due to the high ignition pressure.

Hahaha Na i'm kidding just using the 9n and 9n3 TDI Teething problems on the motor/turbo.
But I'm sure VWSA will do a "revamp" model possibly next year and release a Polo R (google it) for probably over R300K
