Congrats on the car. Hope it serves you well.Ghostfacekilla wrote:I collected my Polo Gti yesterday. its a beautiful car. Still settling with it. DSG seems to be a brilliant system. Just concerned about it because of all the negative posts I read on the interweb.
To be honest it's an awesome car and puts a smile on my face everytime. Just service it at the agents at look after it. To be honest all aftermarket warranties are the same as I mentioned in my previous post:Ghostfacekilla wrote:I collected my Polo Gti yesterday. its a beautiful car. Still settling with it. FYI I pay R340 a month for service plan. I was lucky as when I bought my GTI all the above items were already done. A tip I can give you for future purchases which is what I did. Always try to get the VIN number and check history with an agent. They will give you the detail on everything that was done....services,repairs,warranty claims etc.To be honest they are all the same they just all vary in cost. You will how ever notice they all cover for the same amounts. What I did how ever notice is that my Liquid Capital warranty makes provision for a wear and tear cover on the clutch upto R5000 so for that reason alone makes it a better option. Perhaps one of the others offer it too. I paid around R8000 2 year cover on Polo 1.4 GTI. Already replaced the water pump which cost R6000 so worth while investment.

Activated the function when you switch off the ignition and remove the key it unlocks the door.
Also activated the auto-lock when you go over 17km/h
I had it done as well at the dealer free of charge. Or if you know someone with VCDS. Check the VAG Com VCDS Register thread.Ghostfacekilla wrote:Dan24 wrote:Yeah I got mine activated too. howsit Dan just wondering who activated this for you?
I might be completwly wrong but the little noise the turbo makes up until 3500rpm would be drowned out by supercharger mechanical noise. If you apply load under 3500rpm and let off the pedal before hitting 3500rpm and there is no dump valve sound then my guess would be that the supercharger clutch is gone. What millage is your car on now. If you put the car I to neutral and lift handbrake. Apply gas and you should hear the supercharger "clicking" or trying to engage.Theo R wrote:Sup Guys...Trust everone is well..
I noiced, when my car gets hot i cant hear the turbo spool up.
Im not sure if there's a boost leak, or the cooler is damaged or the turbo is dying.
When the car is cold, it pulls proper and i can feel when the boost comes in. But not hard like it used to.
When the car is hot, no turbo spool sound, car rev's flat ( cant feel the boost)
Car went to VW again...but they say they cant find a prob.
Any idea what could cause this?
Thanks.
I'm currently using Goodyear Effecient Grips R800 a tyre. 215x40x17Theo R wrote:Minty... Conti's are a good brand..
my suggestion would be to log car when cold and log car when warm. Perhaps things like boost, timing and air fuel ratio.Theo R wrote:The Chager is working, we tried it. HAndbrake up and the charger kicks in.
When the motor is hot after a long drive, that when you do not hear the spooling sound any more.
My Prob is that when the motor is hot, it does not boost hard, and its under powered. Im just going nuts trying to find the problem.
I just dont want to go and fit a new cooler, and boost pipes, just incase thats not the prob.
Im not planing on doing any upgrades as i want to sell it nex year sometimes. So bigger cooler and stuff not woth it.
It used to have the dsg burp, ( mid box on the exhaust was taken out) when the car is hot it does not have the burp.
It sucks when you on the freeway and need to overtake and then you get lag and the car does not pull away... my fuel avr is like 10l/100km at an avr speed of 130kph/140kph.
Talked to a friend, he says that the vagcom does not pick up boost leaks... so my question is wtf does this car loss power when the motor is hot...and VW cant give me an answer.
Where did you find them at that price need a set toopoloplayaWP wrote:I'm currently using Goodyear Effecient Grips R800 a tyre. 215x40x17Theo R wrote:Minty... Conti's are a good brand..

Car still on warranty, but also read that these cars don't handle mods well.MAI_6R wrote:Since you've got the gti..when the mods gona startGhostfacekilla wrote:MAI_6R wrote:Ghostfacekilla wrote:I collected my Polo Gti yesterday. its a beautiful car. It's predominantly Murphey's law from what I have seen. Some guys have been running with mods for over a year before they even suffer from clutch slip and issues etc. The current state my car is in I would mod the crap out of it if I could but have other priorities. I have a new sub assembly, new clutches, new waterpump/supercharger clutch and new mechatronic unit.....so technically I'm good to go. I would just do software and downpipe though. That seems enough to slaughter most in your path.Ghostfacekilla wrote:
