Check the fuse, that is usually the problem, it won't work with the remote either. I think this fuse is there for something else as well, so just check all of them.

Polo 9n electric boot problem

Post by xion »

I had the same problem with my 9n3 , I opened up the rear trim and it seemed the motor mech had come loose , the symptoms where as u explained . I just tighten up the bolts holding it in place and all is good now :)

Taking off the trim was a **** !

Could be the micro switch. Do you have access to a VAG Com?

please remove the rubber boot between the body and boot.Check the wires as the brake off due to flexing from the boot opening and closing the whole time.

Well you start from the inside / middle , the part where the lock is situated , when you feel a clip , wedge it out , dont force it !! worked for me ...

Also took out my brakelight about a week ago , had some lamin-x done on it

If the wires have tape round it remove the tape and then also pull it out the body a bit and the tailgate section.
How is the rotary swich on the tailgate were the key gos in?

If you pull the handle and hear a relay click, it means the handle micro switch must be working. Test the actuator and if it works check the wiring. Wires tend to break off inside the ruber boot between the body and lid. The area where movement takes place is most likely to break

Hi

I have a similar problem on my 2009 Polo 9n3. When I try to open the hatch it sometimes works but most of the time it doesn't. When it does work I can hear a sound (actuator or something?) and it opens fine. When it doesn't open it makes no sound and nothing happens. Doesn't open. Another problem I have is with the boot button on the remote. When I press it for 2 secs it very seldom unlocks the boot as it's supposed to. I know it isn't the remote as it's the same with the spare key and all the other buttons work fine. Also when sitting inside the cabin and I hold the button for 2 secs I can hear a click from somewhere inside the car (somewhere in behind the dash). Any tips?

Thanks

Guys, it is the micro switch. I've been having this problem on Polo Vivo 1.4 2013 for a couple of years now. Today the switch stopped working completely, the wires and motor is all fine.

Now where to buy a pirate switch, 'cause VW wants me to pay a "plaas k@khuis" full of money for it. Somebody any ideas, I live in Benoni area?

I have the same problem. It is definitely the microswitch. VW told me they only sell it with the complete lock mechanism.
Please let me know if you find one somewhere. I'll let you know if I find any.

hey folks -- any leads on where to get a generic microswitch? having the same problem described above (to the tee), although my issue is intermittent. no clicking sound when unlocking my boot via remote/key fob. just a stuck handle.
