Polo 9N3 Rear Taillight problem

Post by Crackerjack0910 »

So I'm having a problem with my rear left taillight at the moment and I have no idea what it is.The flicker, reverse and brake lights all work. But for some reason the normal rear lights don't want to work at all, the double bulb which is brake and normal light, the brake part works so it's definitely not the globe.

Anyone have this problem before or know what it could be?

I have taken out the plug, checked the contacts etc and they all look fine.

There are two filaments in that globe - brake and park. Try another globe 1st.

I have tried, another globe. That's not the problem, the other globe below the double one, that's also for the rear light, is also a new globe and not working either.

Yeah I have checked the fuses, I just find it weird that the right rear light everything works, and the left one all the things work except for the normal lights.

Check inside the socket that the contact points are not bent/distorted.

Thanks Supervan II. I have checked and everything seems fine. Cant seem to pinpoint a break in circuit anywhere

So have you taken a volt meter to see if there is power present?
Also i have seen the odd canbus car that wants the fault cleared before it works again.
