Has anyone did a turbo conversion on a Polo Vivo 1.4
i know its a 1.4 but I have a friend that persistant on doing this and need some info

I drove a 63kw 1.4 Monster Polo a few weeks ago....there is a world of a Difference between a Polo GTI and the 1.4...

I just wanted to tune the car the whole time...

well the 1.4TSI motor is the same as the vivo 1.4 motor, they look the same and the bore and stroke are the same, so it must be just internals that are different.

not necasary, larry has gotten a pk from everything hes raced
and there is still the matter of him taking on 2 of the baddest .:R's on the forum

Take a look at the specs on the VW page, same motor even look the same. The Vivo and the new polo also share the same motor. But i could be wrong.

While the bore/stroke might be identical to get the capacity to 1390cc.
The block itself and internals are strengthened to handle boost. The block also has oil squirts. The head is also different vastly.
Twincharged motors also use a timing chain as opposed to a cambelt in a vivo
Runs a forged crank
150bar high pressure fuel system
Sodium filled exh valves due to high egts
runs a type of vvt on the inlet cam to continually adjust cam timing.

The list of differences is very long.

So the only things that these enignes have in common, is the number of Cyl and that they are inside a Polo Body....

Thats the problem with guys in SA, everyone wants the easy way, dont mod it, rather buy it.
