adrenalin re002 or eagle f1 assymetric 2 tyres for gti 6

Post by kemlall »

hi guys.

its time to replace tyres on our golf 6 gti. the car came with bridgestone re050a. mileage is now 63k. replacing the same tyre is way too expensive +- R2700 ea. my options are the bridgestone adrenalin re002 (+-R1600) or the goodyear eagle f1 assymetric 2 (+-R1800). please advise if you have used any of these tyres or have any suggestions.

thanks

I had the GY F1 Asymmetric 1 on my Golf 5. Best tyre there is. Aquaplaning is a rumour for the GY and a reality for anything else. The GY F1A2 will be the replacements on my G6 when it's necessary.

I have fitted the Hankook V12 on my S3. I have done 22K on these tyres with no problem, these tyres still have more that 70% life on them, no road noise, I had the Conti's on the car, @ 21000kms I had to change them.. .completely wasted..., Hankooks are OEM for Audi.

I dont have experience with the V12, but comparing Pirellis that I had and GY that I have now, the GY are way better, better grip, very low to no road noise. I've had some scary moments taking curves at high speed with the Pirellis, if my car didnt have ESP, I probably would not be having it now. After fitting the GY, done same speeds and even higher (pushing the bar higher  ) at same curves, no ESP x-mas lightning. Impressed so far and would definately buy again!

Michelin PS3.

A completely superior tyre to the OE Conti SC2 pos .

In the wet , in the dry . Better wear pattern . I will replace them with the same again barring any major advancements in tyre technology .
