Post by ZeezU »

New airvents are a little bit ****....

Remove them (carefully) and then just see wheter the pieces that open/close moved out of place and move them back. Again be carefull because they somme just fall out if it gets tilted to an angle.

I fixed mine when I sprayed my airvent surrounds. :)

I actually did not even think of prepping it. I just bought a can of engine enamel, because that was the closest match to my cars colour, and sprayed. Here is what it looks like:

I want to give it another coat and then a clear coat to make it more glossy. Its kinda matt at the moment.

it is the pieces that open and close that have moved out of position causing it to jam... How exactly did you fix yours once you opened up the vents??

There is a plastic thing that holds all your horizontal air vent slats in place. It could be that your slats have broken and as such do not move all at once. Do they all move together? Just pull the vent our with your finger nails and take the face off of it. Just be careful not to lose any of the small parts (like that silver cap on the spring). It's fairly easy to figure out. The tube that goes into your vent behind the dash could also be blocking the flap that sits at the rear of the vent, so just check that as well..

I removed the air vent unit thingy, (the surround that I sprayed with the pieces on that open and close everything). Then I removed the pieces that I sprayed and saw that some of the pieces that move just moved out of their plastic "guide" or holder or whatever you call it. Mine wasnt broken luckily so I just pushed them back in.
