13's-15's look great. Some 16's even. 17's and up I don't like.

Aldo's caddy on 13s....Man that looked the absolute business.
It is your opinion, which is just that…I think rat-style is retarded, so…

What’s really pathetic is Vdubbers trying to be “different” by all doing the same. I luckily do not base my decisions regarding my cars on what other people think. I’ll rather be frowned upon by the self-proclaimed style gods of the “scene” and do my own thing than be another follower of the trends and other people’s opinions.

I do not think 17"s compliment the look of a Mk1 in most cases, but there are exceptions when it comes to CITIs and Caddies...

Couldn't have said it better... Besides all the nice looking rims are in 17z these days.. Unless every single Mk1 / Citi is going to roll on a set of BSX wheels. If you have a unique wide 15" split wheel than that would be cool but to throw on a set of ugly ass 13z to 15z and think you a god, that to me is just stupid.
That wheel chart is so stupid as it portrays the views of one group yet it keeps making an appearance as if it was a dummies guide to enhance the appearance of your Mk1 / Citi.

Do what you've always done and you'll end up with what you always had.... this is the problem with the SA scene.

Now tell me how retarded does this look?

Guess as i mentioned it earlier that, we all have our own "different" styles and perception towards our on preference...and no one can really say if someone's style is retarded not unless its the obvious  ...

And as Dogg mentioned, most mags today that look really hott are 17's... i mean 15 years ago 15's were the real deal...15 years Later 17's are the real deal... when a youngster gets a ride the first thing he would like on his ride is a set of 17's even thou the ride came with 14's...

So as much yall prefer 15's and think they are practical, 17's are jus the same...

If we may jus stop with the debate, because one's perception and style may not be the same as yours... and this is based on perception and style.

Oh ya, Uniqueness is what brings all of us here together... As we learn from other's styles and express our own... hence it being a Forum...

If it was based upon the same style and perception - i doubt we'd all be here as it would be a waste of time sharing ideas with people who share the same thing....

This thread is just full of LOL and FAIL...

There is so much talk of different strokes for different folks, yet when they are expressed, everyone gets all upset and starts attacking those that express their view  Sure you may not agree with it, but it is still someone's view which shoudl be respected just as much as yours...

I agree with Roadhawg, I have never liked big wheels on a MkI or Citi, always preferred around a 15" wheel  That's our preference...

Dude, its the way things are expressed. No one here said 15" wheels on a citi / Mk1 is a fail however 17z on a Mk1 / Citi was stressed as being retarded.

i think his talking about me, RoadHaWg JuliasHawg had to go call backup.

he can slander us but cant take it when i slam him. he wants us to have better ways of expressing our views but slander is good enough for him. Neuk comes here and talks about respect while his friend and himself openly diss our cars??? real respectful of them dont you think? why does our preference's make you guys so angry that you have to come with outdated charts mind you Dood's car is the black mk1 with 17" wheels on... he was once apart of us but look at him now, seems like peer pressure to me?

we manage to leave you guys to love those incredibly small wheels in peace, respect us. we dont need to fight and argue and come with kak pictures every time a mk1 with 17" wheels is posted.

honestly its a bit retarded the way you guys act and bordering on childish.

*starts munching his way through a bag of popcorn*

Velofox, just as clarification, he did say 17's look retarded on a mk1, not specifically that YOUR car looks retarded...
Its in no way harming the club or VW scene or whatever, its an opinion, just like yours saying hes acting childish...and this is a VERY mild reaction to 17's compared to a international forum etc...thing is 17's are very 90's when big was cool, and all that mattered was whose was bigger...the scene has generally moved on to a point where its not the size that matters but the actual FITMENT that makes it count, and generally, smaller wheels allow for much better FITMENT/STANCE then 17's simply because you can go low AND wide, therefore looking better...

people need to just chill and learn to take things with a pinch of salt...i would hate to see your reaction if someone told you that you hair looked kak to your face, let alone an arb person on the interwebs...

So should I rather go around around liking every car i ever see. I must love bright purple cortina bakkies painted with wall enamel and a bit dragon down the side? I must LOOOOOOVE big jap wings on mk1's?

No dude, please. I don't have to like your car, or anyone elses. You don't have to like mine. That's how the real world works.

Saying it once off is fine but I'm sure it would become an issue if its said every time that oke saw me.

I don't think Velofox has an issue with people not liking 17z on a Mk1/Citi or his car but rather how things are sometimes said.
It's the same when Julius says what he wants and people take offense yet it's just his opinion.

But this topic is getting old and going no where so to the OP let us know what you decide
