Hey bud, long time?
I'm also deciding whether 16" or 17" on a MK1
You suggest 16" is better.

Nice thread this, helps me decide on the rim size too.

We need more pics with 17 and 16 on MK1's to compare!

the 16" wheels when this low is bouncy and impacts my braking ability

Yip, I will go with the 17z any day. With the 15z the tyre needs to be stretched and the car has to be low low low.

The 15"s have a nice ride and makes it look very tame, but I think the 17"s suited the Caddy better...I'll be fitting another set soon. 17 x 8J 2-piece spit, made in Germany

aish. The 17's still look stupid to me. Why not run 29inch wagon wheels! Ya! That'll be lekker.

13's-15's look great. Some 16's even. 17's and up I don't like.

they way you feel about big wheels is the same why i feel about small wheels

if you prepared to pay R1k for a 13" tire you might as well get 16/17" tires which are more practical and easier to obtain.

i think your wheel chart is absolutely ludicrous and shows that you repeat yourself and wont grow up!

you dont see us mk1 drivers with 17" wheels bashing you mk1 drivers with small wheels. if we can leave yous to be then surely you can do the same?

just so you know, Aldos car was completely custom, nothing else would have worked, dont you see that?
