It's still with Stephan, so I haven't even seen it yet, but he reckons it's salvageable.

I'll take his word for it.

That is GREAT news. Really didn't feel like sending the car there for a few days.

OUCH on the price though. Last time I bought a branch there, it was R800. Granted, this was about 10 years ago.
Not really that bad, i paid VIPER R1900 for a custom built from scratch branch that i had to leave the car there for 3 days, and i got a off the shelf 9a mk2 branch that they chopped and just welded in a piece of tube to make it longer :bang:

When Viper in Kempton was still run by Abel I never got anything but excellent service from him. I left one of my vehicles there for him to develop the 16v branch for a mk1 so it could be an off the shelf item - nobody else wanted to leave a car there for a couple of days at that stage. I also always paid negotiable prices and never felt done in. Since he's left for durbs the new guy wants to become a millionaire in a couple of months and he won't ever get any business from me.

Well on Friday evening I got my current motor out and the the dam electricity went out. :bang:
Started on Sat morning finding the gear linkages needed a good service and new so went shopping. By 10:30 the ABF was in with Branch, CV's and all mounts.
Stopped there as went to watch some Drifting and relax at Harties sunday so will carry on today.

One thing I found was I have a brake pressure switch for brake lights so the bloody MK2 brake bottle doesn't fit in by 1mm. Going to get a 90 degree elbow for the switch today.

Will post the pics later on today as my work internet doesn't allow me to!!

So here are some pics of how the project went.
Got her started last night.
One thing Im concerned about is she battles to stay idling and seems I cant get the ignition timing right. I'm thinking it is a result of still running on the 1.8 map not getting correct fuel in. Just need a confirmation of this? Im not going to drive it at all, Going to tow it to the exhaust shop Saturday to join the new branch to my existing pipe and then to Dyno it.

Image
My 1.8i about to get gutted

gutted
Image
Whats to be, waiting on the side line
Image
The new home, Cv's, Branch and all mountings are connected here.
Image
The new injector wiring plug finished being hacked from each wire loom.
Image
Had to modify the rail to fit my 8mm fuel hoses. machined some hydraulic pipe to fit inside the rail and pratley for good measure and seal.
Image

All my items spread out that needed fitting

I will take some more pics later on with all the manifolds etc on

nice branch!!!!!!

that serp crank pulley that runs the alternator and waterpump may not fit nicely, i have the vibration damper one and that one, the vibration damper pulley being the original and the one in your pic being from a different model. the spacing on the hollow one will be a problem as the belt will not line up with its position in the crank pulley.

could be mistaken, but i also wanted to go that route but the spacing was an issue...

Thanks
Got it from Alert For R285 I think it was.
I have a 2.0 ABF ECU that I got from Monster but I have a UNI Chip that is intercepting the signal for the abf which I ran on the 1.8.
If I could temporally not run the Uni I would.

Dont worry you were correct, After fitting the pulley I could see it wasn't lining up so it never made it on. lol it was just lying around so a tried fitting it. Im running the std one now1

I would do that but I would like it to fine tune the motor also if I go with any other mods will like to tune it accordingly. I might open it up and see which injector wires are being interrupted and unplug it and bridge them out on the plug. Not to keen on that tho just to drive her, but maybe just to make sure she is running ok with no leaks or something before dyno.

The branch is .........................wat for it............TNT

You are not going to be able to "fine tune" with the uni-chip , well not by yourself - Dastek only allows dealers to do that - heck , they wont even give out a wiring diagram .. Even the dealers cant really fine tune it that much - the mp9 just doesnt like it

Taking it to RBTS for its tuning I wont even think of trying to tune it. Though would like to learn. yeah they very unhelpful.
