Speak to CRS. I'm sure they'll help.

The boxes they get those systems in all have diagrams, but they don't pass them on, so they should have a few lying around.

Good luck with that, I have the same problem. They just refuse to give you even a peak at the wiring diagram. Only way is to pay them to install it again. but maybe if you have more luck than I did I also need it

I for one would more than a little concerned if the wiring diagrams for any aftermarket alarm system were available to the general public and/or online...

You have a valid point but..... if the people that want to steal your car doesn't know what sec. system you have, you still have a bit of an advantage.

If only that were true, all AFM alarms seem to have the same fatal flaws, so I think the advantage would maybe be a few minutes longer to break-in and steal the car

Think about it for a sec, the wiring is still connected to the starter and the battery... 2 seconds with some nice sharp side cutters in the right place and the alarm is neutralized completely.

I'd rather look into making some kind of bracket to protect the wiring/ecu, install a backup battery into the car and connect backup power wires to that battery for the alarm control box (I think I may even have a wiring diagram at home for that) and move the siren and maybe even some kind of splash guard to cover the exposed sections of the engine bay under the car.

If they cannot get to the wires... they cannot cut them...

Ofcourse, if they cannot get to the wires from underneath, they usually just smash the grille and open the bonnet that way, then cut the wires and steal the car :bang:

Alas, I think there are very few ways to make any car theif proof

But I am all for making it as difficult and painful as possible to give your car a decent sporting chance :hi:

the manufacturers are all going with wireless encryption built into the ignition system.

but...... if they have a plug and drive system they can still take it but the more complex systems get, the more you eliminate the casual thief.

Ideally you should get a car that only a professional will want to steal - ding the one door and then the pro doesn't want it and the casual can't steal it. Perfect!

Thieves know the wiring of any alarm system way better than anybody else. Putting it on the web isn't really giving them any advantage. You'll find they know any system tricks WAY better and that they are either working as an installer - or has a contact at the alarm factory or installer business. Trust me- these people are 'in the know' way more than the average man on the street.
The casual thief is the oke that wait for you to leave your keys in the ingnition while putting a packet in the boot or that hijacks you. The guy that goes to steal a locked parked car doesn't need the system wiring placed on the web to be able to steal it. These days they also either hook the car up and tow it away or put it on the back of a truck to be attended to at their leisure. The years of where a car is broken into and stolen gone in 60 seconds style(started and driven away) is pretty much over if you ask me.

Having a wiring diagram for an Autowatch alarm isn't going to help you much as all the wires are black!

Once installed, you (and a potential thief) have no way of telling which wire does what.

Another thing is that a decently installed alarm will cut power to the ignition system(ECU) and fuel pump. So no amount of cutting and joining under the bonnet is going to help. Maybe if they get under the dash it's a different story, but would probably still take some time. This is why they prefer to hijack your car, no wiring knowledge or experience is needed!

jip same on my vehicle. I also pull the dizzy rotor and hide it when the car is not used for longer periods of time.

Has anyone had any experience in programming these Auto Watch systems? I keep on setting the "auto arm" feature to "OFF", but it keeps on resetting back to "ON". So after a minute or so, it locks itself.

And by the way, if you know what you are doing and connect the immobilising system with a little intuition, you won't be able to start the car if you just "cut the wires"...
