Hi, I want to know which motor is best for a project build, 1.8T 20v or Vr6 2.8 or 2.9
Are there major modifications to be done on the suspension etc. I would also like to know how much it will cost me.. I want best of both worlds i. t. o power and a daily driver! I don't mind taking the bakkie to CT, Gauteng or Durbs as long as I'm getting what I want! If I should go aftermarket or standard ECU,add interior, sound, coilies, stretch tyres and a sick looking "15 wheel than give me a price please. The guys that does this type of builds hit me up, let's talk..

Re: Mk1 Caddy Build
VR6 in a mk1 chassis is always a massive pain in the behind, does not handle fantastically and won't make even near what a happy 1.8T will make.
I'll select the 1.8T every time I get asked.
There is only 1 thing to like about a vr and that is the sound.

Re: Mk1 Caddy Build
Thanks Panic, I drive a G4 so I know the 1.8T is something else but like you said the sound of VR is just fantastic. Now what do you say Panic, when can I bring it to GP? LOL, I know you're fully book up until after Easter

Re: Mk1 Caddy Build
No I don't have time for vr6 conversions. It's something I really won't bother with. There is a crowd in Durban that does that kind of thing.
