7R Motor Needed

Post by Black&White »

Howzit all,

Been a second.

Where can I get a "untouched" used 2015 7R motor.

Long story short, oil pump failure = motor failure.

Your assistance would GREATLY be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Martin

Looking for gold there.

Used motor is very likely to be very "touched".

Best option would be a rebuild. It will be expensive, but likely to have better results than a used motor.

I second this option. You should be able build a forged engine for under R100k.

Less than that. Waay less than a R100k.

It's actually cheaper to build the forged motor than to return it to stock.

Depending on how bad it all is and what parts are used, I estimate between R45000 and R60000, engineering, parts and labour included.

BT isn't necessary at this point, but the forged motor does leave the door open for further mods and moar powah! later.

Initially it just gets it to be sturdy and reliable.

Sorry guys, missed the notifications for this.

Def considering to Forge the motor, but currently estimate is around 80K. Car was with QT Performance while I went through the ombudsman ordeal.

I collected the car from him just so that its not in his way. Some of the part did come home & some did not. So ill prob build the motor at his shop.

Crank got some damage.
Oilpump gone
Big End bearings
Conrod nr4
Piston nr4

Why Im looking for the motor is, its still going to be a while before I can save up the remaining money for the build (been 9 months without my car)
But im seriously considering just Building the motor & then its good for MOAR POWAH. hahahahaha

VolkSpares for Wossner pistons and rods.

Best performing and fitting pistons for this motor.

FYI OEM pistons are R16000 for a set. Wossner are R13500 at my last pricing. Similar story with most of the other parts. Goldwagen can help you with most of the rest of the parts, also look at Alert engine spares.

I am sure that he can, he sources both locally and overseas for various R, S3, RS3, Subaru, Toyota, etc. forged rebuilds. Customers even crate ship their engines or transport their entire cars from all over SA for engine rebuilds.

Jared is great, I have known him since I joined the VWCSA back in the mid 2000's, he helped me with a lot of cars over the years and will be doing my Touareg brakes this week hopefully despite being quite busy at the moment. You can check his Facebook page out...
