How fast is the fluctuations?

Get a diagnostic tool on it and check readings of sensors. There should be a coolant sensor on the radiator and one on the block. They should both read similar readings off by 1 or 2 degrees if the engine is warm.

Hi callum229

I've got vcds plugged in scanned the car and I got two faults 1st one was coolant pump for intercooler mechanical malfunction

The second one was the coolant temperature sensor the problem I have is I can't locate where the coolant temp sensor is on the block. My radiator fan goes on like normal everything works properly.

Which means the switch on the radiator works perfect.

Just a update Gents my issue about the heat gauge fluctuating it's sorted

The problem was the temperature switch at the back of the engine block I did clean it and all was well again

Thanks a lot for your response.
