How fast is the fluctuations?
Get a diagnostic tool on it and check readings of sensors. There should be a coolant sensor on the radiator and one on the block. They should both read similar readings off by 1 or 2 degrees if the engine is warm.

Re: Heat gauge fluctuating from 90 to 130 degrees and back
Hi callum229
I've got vcds plugged in scanned the car and I got two faults 1st one was coolant pump for intercooler mechanical malfunction
The second one was the coolant temperature sensor the problem I have is I can't locate where the coolant temp sensor is on the block. My radiator fan goes on like normal everything works properly.
Which means the switch on the radiator works perfect.
