U0103 fault code

Good morning,

Vehicle: 2012 VW golf 6 gti

Car not shifting out of Park. Wrench & P are flashing in MFD. Scanned trans code and got U0103 - lost communication with gear shift control module. Engine light also came on. Can anyone help me on what the problem could be?
