Why do you need another crankshaft?

Do you not know what engineering shops can do?

Ask around your area for a good motor engineering shop and take it in.

My old shop could rebuild the bearing journals if they had become too badly damaged, your most probably needs to be cut 0.25mm and all is good.

I would suggest getting all the parts together and have the shop assemble the rotating assembly, all the clearances will be checked and set, then all is torqued to spec.

Have it rebuilt.

1mm on one journal is very hard to believe, you would have had to drive the car for months without a rod bearing to achieve that amount of damage.

If what you are saying is right and it's necessary to replace the crank, you would be better off with an imported motor. They cost about the same as the loose crank. You will only get one from VW, unless you have a huge luck and find one going for sale used somewhere that's not in the same condition as yours.

Eish, that's bad, I'm sorry.

At least now the engine build will give you an excuse for some mods and some more power.

That should work, just get it checked by your engineer before parting with money, if you can.

:type: jfCan someone help me identify my crankshaft, it's an 06A and I'm trying to determine weather or not the engine I have has been stroked. It's a 1.8t but the guy I bought it from swears it's been stroked. https://photos.app.goo.gl/y2HLE9nGtTkokWV38

Howzit bud.

1st it's rude to revive and hijack an old thread, second it's bad form to post links to pictures.

I suggest you start your own thread and Introduce Yourself properly, then post the pictures. A how to for that is in the new members action of the forum.

When you do those things it will let more people see your query and you could get the help you are looking for.
