Re: S3 8p intercooler removal .help needed
Wrong guy to ask about that. I basically detest these front mount aftermarket stuff that many of the guys install.

Re: S3 8p intercooler removal .help needed
Understandable... most of the experienced guys including u that i asked are against the aftermarket coolers due to poor quality and all advised that oem is the better option so will try my best with the oem coolerpanic-mechanic wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 7:27 am Wrong guy to ask about that. Re: S3 8p intercooler removal .help needed
I did one of these installs years ago (about 11 years ago) on my S3
You need to remove the heavy steel under tray and the front bumper. The rest is pretty straight forward after that . Remove the crash bar and then split the Aircon condenser, radiator and cooler.
Remove the silicon boost pipes and remove the cooler . There are clips holding the cooler and radiator but those are quite easy to remove compared to the Mk7 platform
I would suggest you replace the rubber gasket that's on the drivers side of the car .. the boost pipe fits into an aluminium pipe and secures with a circular clip. You might find some oil in that pipe so don't be alarmed. The bonnet sensor might give you issues as it doesn't go back as securely as it was before. Also be careful when disconnecting the fog lights and temp sensor and the headlight washers
You don't need anything fancy tool wise except for some sockets and torx bits
