VW 6R Polo Gti Turbo Question

Hi guys,

It seems as though the turbo on my car is done for. I need to have it either replaced or refurbished.

VW wants 28K & goldwagen wants 11k for a replacement.

Who are the other reputable suppliers? and if i had to have refurbed who do you guys recommend?

My turbo is currently with Gaby & I should have it back by the end of this week.

One more question...Is it advisable to have the PCV valve changed one time? the car was using a bit of oil & also smoked a lot on a slight acceleration.
What is the estimated cost of a new PCV?

Very cheap. Just walk into a goldwagen and ask for one.

What happened to the turbo if you don't mind me asking?

I am asking as I read in some forums that the 6R GTi was or still is known for turbo and supercharger issues.
