early morning the petrol attendant is more awake / keen on his job and gets more fuel into the tank as opposed to one that is just short of knock off time and don't care anymore :-)

Ah, didn't think of that, because I always have them stop at the click-out anyway, as I find this more consistent and reliable.

Hmmm yes... but then the lazy must get their bums out the driver seat and make sure it reaches the same level everytime, whether it is to first click or until you can't get more in the neck.

Sorry for the hijack.. Just wanted to know if any of the new polo owners have lowered their cars? If so what springs have you used?

I have the same issue with my polo. Once the fuel get out of the fuel tank mark it runs to empty, meaning you can literally watch it move.

I love the car but the fuel consumption is really heavy considering that it is a 1.0

Hey Guys,

Was googling fuel consumption on the dsg highline 1l stock no modification.

I was initially annoyed with how heavy my car was but since my 45k service the fuel consumption got a lot better. We recently took a trip to cape Town and down we averaged 5.2 down and 5.5 up with 3 adults one kid and a full boot. Which I think was pretty good. But I did realize driving at 130 on cruise control was sometimes better than 120kph.

Best we ever did was 4l per 100km ons a trip to marble hall with only two adults.

City driving isn't that great. But considering I don't do a lot of short trips it's OK for now. Around 7l per 100km without eco mode and just driving.

Was fun reading all your comments. Love my polo this polo is my 3rd polo.
