Leon FR Cluster

Post by G10 »

Hi Guys

The instrument cluster died this weekend, I suspect it was the battery that caused it.

I was due for a new battery but have been putting it off, Friday parked car, Sunday tried to start, no lights on cluster, car starts and dies immediately.

Tested battery at the battery centre and bought a new one, car was still the same.

Stripped out the dash, and everything else (wiring/fuses) all checked out, diagnostic says cluster communication failure.

Any idea where I could get this repaired? I have had no luck calling scrapyards.

Thanks

Thanks for the information, i ended up going to Reef Industrial here in cbd where I work.

The microprocessor is not reading correctly when it dies, apparently it doesn't "wake up" at times and he recommended I get a new cluster and get it coded.

So for now the car is a ticking time bomb with occasional battery reconnects to spark the cluster to life until i can get a replacement.

Hi Again

I ended up getting a cupra cluster from a scrapyard last week, it came on but obviously won't start as it needs to be coded now.

I called lindsey saker east rand mall and they asked me to first come in with the car papers, copy of id and they then send a request to germany to get the codes before coding, didn't give me a price.

Is there anyone on the forum that can assist with coding the new cluster? Just to get it working, and change the mileage to the correct one as per my current cluster (The used one is sitting on 41000 and i want it to match my original mileage)
