Golf 7 Gti - Performance Pack LSD Service

Post by Sr20-gp »

Hi Guys

Has anyone has the oil changed on their PP LSD?

Just wondering what the service interval is for changing the oil?

Thanks

Found some stuff on the overseas forums -

https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthre ... 392&page=3

https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread. ... aintenance

Aparently the oil needs to be changed every 3 years.

So called up my service advisor and he did not have a clue about this.

Just wondering if other PP owners have had this done as my car will be approaching the 3 year interval in a few months.

Yeah seen that now.

Wondering if anyone has had this done? My service advisor doesn't have a clue. Keeps talking about the DSG change at 60 000km :bang:

Where you located, maybe contact another dealership.

So called "service advisor" , They'll avoid it under service plan so they don't have to outlay the cost just like brake fluid changes despite the book advising that it should be changed.

Doesn't seem to be difficult job , One nut out for drain and one nut out for fill.

Recommended service is every 3 years , irrespective of mileage , Uses Haldex oil , Bottom drain and side fill - Hex nuts.

Some dealers won't have this listed a a service item despite it being in the book.

Yes,but it uses a haldex pump to actuate it.
How does this work? The electronic LSD's use the front brakes to give the effect of an LSD but they don't use proper mechanical LSD's.

No you are thinking of XDS.
The front E-diff uses wet clutches to lock the left and right driveshafts when required.

Take the Service book with you to the dealer and pin point it out and hope it forms part of their discretion "Maintenance" plans

They will probably do it if you pay it out of your own pocket then again I wouldn't let them near the car if they don't know what you talking about. eish

Hi bud. Did you manage to get VW to sort this out?

My advisor says he will need to plug the car in and then get a report on what items are due for service. Sending it in next month.
