Audi S3 8L Engine Mountings

Post by P1LAYA-ZN »

Good Day gents,

So, I've been experiencing some clunking noises for a while now, and also recently getting a knocking sound from my down pipe and was advised to check my engine mountings.
I have already done the Poly dog bone mount insert and Poly Control Arm Bush, yet still this knocking noise persists.
When I went to get my exhaust checked, they said the exhaust is tight and no rubbers are broken, so the only reason for the down pipe to knock is if the engine mountings are worn.
Is there any way to test this apart from handbrake up in first and engaging clutch to check engine movement ?
Also, are there any other alternatives to getting these mounting from the Stealers who want R2500 each :puke:

Has anyone had their engine mountings Filled with Polyurethane and can advise on the degree of vibration after fitment.
This seems to be the most effective option @ about R500 for both @ Andres Rubber.
Many have advised against it due to excessive vibration.
Another guy, who does these Poly Filling of engine mountings said that he just drills some small holes in the Poly to reduce the vibrations.
