Hi guys my name vuyo
I have Mk4 golf 1.6 basic is eating petrol like hell lately and is having en gene light on since January, and this light come and go, anything to worry?

The car is automatic

Hi

Check the MAP and Water Temp sensor - Either clean or replace

Check Catalytic converter - if clogged - will need to be removed

together with a good service then check if the Engine Light still comes on.

Alternately get the car scanned to pin pint you in the right direction.

Does the car battle to start in the mornings...if so injectors may be poked...relatively common issue on those 1.6's
