Jetta 4 1.8t jerk(Sorted)

Post by Teddy132kw »

Greetings,
I have a J4 1.8t 132 KW that jerks when accelerating. All gears except 1st do this and it's sporadic, more jerking than none though. If I pull subtly, seems ok, put the moment I go about halfway on the accelerator, it starts jerking badly.

Anything to look out for or check? Apparently it could be coils or n75 or even dirty MAF.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

together with what panic suggested, How long ago since car was serviced? thinking fuel filter as well.

Easiest way would be to have the car logged, will point you in the right direction and avoid replacing unnecessary things.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. Put it on ESITronic today and Boost Control Valve (I believe this is the N75) came back faulty, even after clearing. So I guess thats it. Anyone know where I can buy this or source one?

Much appreciated.

Hi I Had this problem on my AGU1.8 GTI. Turned out to be the coilpack.
It takes many bolts to assemble a car, but only one nut to scatter it all over the road.

There are 4. It uses coil on spark so 1 for each plug. So it makes that a bit more hard to fault find at times.

This is true. Let me start with cleaning the MAF and changing N75 as it has already came up faulty. I have one on its way. Will carb cleaner do the trick with the MAF? I see lots of mixed feelings on the Forum.

Hey guys, just some feedback. After changing the n75 car runs waaaaay better. Just slightly hesitation now. Boost pressure sensor came back with static fault. Will try source one tomorrow. Thanks all for your help and comments

Slight hesitation resolved by replacing the boost control sensor(MAP Sensor)

We are sorted now

Did you end up cleaning the MAF, and what did you use?

Sorry about the delay, Yeah ended up using carb cleaner, but used compressed air to thoroughly dry it. Worked pretty well.
