Haldex Service - to DIY or not ?

Good Day gents,

Just wondering if anyone attempted to do a Haldex Service DIY on their vehicle.
I've had a look at some videos and doesn't seem too difficult.
Just the Filter seems a bit tricky and may need a tool to remove and re-fit.

"Apparently" you can make the haldex filter come out of the housing using VCDS?

I read it somewhere on the internet, it must be true?

Check out Volvo forums if you need more info, seems like a debate between Gen3 Haldex VS Gen4 Haldex and a "non service" item filter.

Not too bad to DIY. But depends which version of haldex you have. Gen2 haldex is a bit of a pain to remove the filter. You either need the tool or drop the rear subframe.
Gen4 haldex has a "lifetime" filter that vw does not stock, but you can get them from Shaun at Revo. Much easier to replace.

You can use the Haldex pump output test on VCDS to push out the filter on the Gen4 versions.

Your profile says 8L S3, so you would need the tool. Fairly easy to DIY with the right spanner.

You also need vcds to be able tomrun the pump to getbthe correct levels. So without vcds it is a non starter.
