Re: white smoke
Petrol cars
- white smoke is generally coolant being burnt
- if mistaken for grey oil smoke then it could be worn valve stem seals or guides
Diesel cars
- normally unburnt fuel from leaky injectors

When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on

Re: white smoke
How many kilos on the car? Could quite possibly be the turbo seals are on the way out, causing small amounts of oil to leak into the zorst and that is causing the smoke.
Or it could be valve stem seals.

Re: white smoke
Sounds like the typical valve stem seals the 20v engines face.
If you slow down in gear and accelerate again after a bit, can you see any smoke? That's an easy indicator after pulling vacuum while slowing down.
