Hpfp

Post by vwpro »

Anyone can share some idea to solve this issue.

Have problems with hpfp to deliver 130bar, highest it goes 90bar though request is 130bar, new hpfp pump, new intank fuel pump, new controler for intank fuel pump, new s4 rail relieve valve, new rail pressure transmitter

Any wear on the intake camshaft lobe?

Sorry for the hijack, Are the lobes on the revised intake shafts removeable or does the complete thing need to be replaced?

AFAIK the intake cam is replaced as a whole when the HPFP wears down the cam follower and damages the camshaft.

And when HPFP was replaced, was it only internals replaced or complete new pump? Just asking since I went through some fuelling issues of my own recently...

In my case the tension on the old hpfp spring was too low. So sourced a new pump and used the spring from that along with the new autotech hpfp internals (which doesn't come with a new spring). I could compress the old pump easily with my hand compared to the a new spring. Perhaps have a local tuner monitor VCDS while you drive to try and isolate the issue... What pressure does the LPFP reach?

Did that logs with the vcds, on idle the lpfp between 2.5bar and 6bar on higher rpms. The lpfp is new and the controler.
Suspect the voltage supply to the hpfp that maybe brakes away, tester don't show such quick variation, try now for a scope to check the supply

Any recent changes made to the car? Fuel filter replaced?
