Help needed...

Post by CarlitoCPT »

Hi guys. My coolant light on my Audi a4 came on and when I lifted the bonnet I saw water squirting from this pipe. I don't know what to do now as its a public holiday and most car shops are closed.
Can I used Qbond in the interim?
Pls help

Depending.....I'd use a self taper screw and then use some of that self valcanising tape to cover it.

Qbond uses superglue, and that stuff is not waterproof. It might last for a few days.
Do what Howie suggested.

Qbond supposedly can handle up to 180 celcius and can be used with coolant without a problem.
Perhaps try what Howie stated, then throw some qbond around the bolt to seal it up for now.

Metal pipe

Whip it off an find someone who can braze it.

Should last a while and should safely get you home from your holiday

Some update...
I replaced the pipe however the owner at the workshop said I don't need antifreeze but is going to throw in aquaclear. Any one else used this?

Use a different workshop in future. Aquaclear is marketing BS.
Use G12 coolant from Goldwagen.

Should I drain the water and refill it with water/coolant again rather?

Coolant is not just anti freeze. it has some anti rust properties as well which water / aquaclear won't have
