Hi guys.
So I purchased maxspeedingrods forged conrods for my polo gti (BJX).
Waited 3 weeks and installed and found out these aren't correct for the car, the rods big end width is 19.9mm whereas our cars require a 24.9mm big end conrod. So according to maxspeedingrods they only make the 19.9mm rods in the 19mm wristpin design, which is only used on the 132kw mk4 gti I believe. Anyone to shed some light?
So I'm left with rods that won't work.
Anyone running maxspeedingrods in their car? Anyone with any suggestions with what I can do?
Also if anyone has a spare set of 19mm wristpin rods please let me know.

Re: Forged Rods on 1.8t
Take them to a good engineering shop to open them to fit your wrist pin of your car. The 19.9mm wide rods are for the newer motors as in the audi 8p and vw golf6. Audi 20v also have a 25mm wide rod some 20mm and 21mm wrist pins with taper rod, some 8p have bigger wrist pins seen some like 23mm. This rods I cant say where they fit

The gudgeon pin (wrist pin) hole can be machined bigger by any competent engineering shop.
The big end width is a completely different story.....
