Car cuts out when going to hard, rought idle, previous owner put in wrong plugs causing it to burn.

So you've done a compression test then? Those symptoms are common to a number of problems.

Wrong plug won't cause a burnt valve. But they commonly break pistons.
Was rhe compression low?

Why don't you start again.
History, problems, what was done to rectify the problem, mechanic that carried out the work, what happened after the work was done, what tests were done and how you came to the conclusion in your first post.
Maybe, just maybe, you will receive much better advice.

Alternatively, go and repair the burnt valve and then hope pray the diagnosis was correct so you don't piss your money away.

I have never seen a burnt valve on a BWA. what I have seen is dropped valves and I have seen many many broken pistons. Again saying that an incorrect spark plug will cause a burnt valve is absolute falacy.
Anyway to just repair one burnt valve is also idotic becuase when you have a head off you might as well refresh the whole thing.
Depending where you are engineering costs can vary but around R2.5 k for engineeering - around 3-5k for spares - labour to remove head again depends on workshop to workshop.
so anything from R12k ish to R18k.
but my bet is a broken piston.
