Vw Abf head on agg bottom end

Post by Vw 8v kid »

Hi there!
I’ve tried to search using the search function but it just isn’t working out :deadhorse:

So since the abf’s are now going for R20k I’m not planning on buying one :banned:. I’m planning on turbo’ing, I’m sourcing an abf head and going to be putting it on my agg bottom end. What has to be done to the abf head to make it fit. What head gasket must I use ? And is there anything else I must be aware of when putting the abf head onto the agg bottom end ? Beside the obvious lower c/r.

Instant 8.5:1 compression ratio which is perfect for boost.

Valve pockets must be machined in the pistons to clear the inlet valves.
Also get ARP studs for the conrods. The stock intenals are more than capable of handling 1+ Bar of boost, but the stock conrod bolts can be upgraded just for safeties sake. Plenty motors out there like what you are planning are running over a Bar of boost with no issues.
Larger injectors.
ABF pulleys for the crank, intermediate shaft, etc.
Management system plus tuning.
AGG motor comes with a 60-2 crank setup as standard so a 60-2 capable management system can be used.

Wait until tomorrow and the more knowledgeable gurus will give more advice.
