2015+ Tiguan 1.4tsi

Post by georgie »

Hi guys,

I am trying to assist my parents with finding a suitable SUV. They like the new Tiguan 92kw manual.

Are they as problematic as previous models?

I've read they can be shockingly heavy on fuel, is this true? Most of their driving is urban.

Any other common issues with these models?

Thanks

Yeah did some reading, many complaints about the fuel economy and oil usage, low mileage engine replacements etc.

The 2.0tdi seems to be the one to go for but I think its a bit out of budget.

The Rav 4 2.0 petrol seems like a better option for them. Not really a fan of the ott styling but seems like a lot less to worry about mechanically.

So the previously mentioned issues no longer apply or just less frequently? I'm a bit confused, is the mk2 the Ea211 platform?

The MkII is the latest Tiguan based on the MQB platform and the 1.4 engines used are the newer turbo only 1.4's.

I had the 118kw 1.4tsi Tiguan and it was awesome. Good fuel economy and had no issues for the 1 year and a bit I had it. No oil usage problems either.

Aaah ok, thanks Neuk

The more I look at it online, the more sense the Rav makes. No way they would go for an asx, even the toyota would be foreign to them.
