Guys, please verify that head timing is correct. The mark on the pulley lines up with the tappet cover, the two O's line up on the chain but the distributor is 180 degrees from the dissy markImageImageImageImage

Remove dissy, set on TDC mark and refit it, also make sure that your bottom end is on TDC.

The distrbutor has a fit only one way offset on the drive gear. But you can pull the pin holding it and turn the shaft 180 degrees. Unless you checked beforehand it does not mean it won't be ok depending on how they plugged the plug wires onto the cap.
So if no one plug lead is at that location and follows the correct firing order further it will be fine.

Hi guys, the Dicktator is not sending signal to the coil to spark. U can hear the fuel pump priming but the is no spark. I tested the 3 wires going to the coil, negative is fine, 12v with ignition on is fine but the centre cable is dead even when starting. Checked all the cables, everything is connected. Does anybody have any idea what to check or what causes this. The wires to the throttle body were damaged due to the heat from the turbo, I replaced them but still no luck

Ok so how did you check the centre wire - what with. You have to use something like an led and see if it flickers. So the Led you will put the one leg on possitive and the other on the centre pin and then it must flash on an off.

Hi Panic, thanks, yes, used the led. The signal wire was rubbing against the edge of the firewall, I replaced the wire and the car starts. Thanks man

Nope. I am a terrible collector of part numbers. Don't note them down and don't care to remember them.

You will need a new bolt too. To be on the safe side replace the cam belt also. That pulley got cracked through, you are getting a replacement intermediate shaft. What about the drive gear fitting on the oil pump, is that still ok and crack free?
