Polo 6c GTI DSG knocking in manual mode

Hi guys, I have a 2015 Polo GTI with DSG. I have a knocking noise, like something is going to break, whenever I drive hard in manual mode. I noticed it only happens when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I have heard of at least 3 people that has the same problem. It is normal for the 7spd box, is it a factory fault, is there a recall for this???

Anyone else experiencing this? Any advise?

Switch traction off, flat foot on the loud pedal to redline and shift to 2nd, You will probably pick up spinning, tyre hop and that same "knocking".

The engine mounts are too weak.

I don't get that "knocking" when doing what you explained. It only happens when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, when shifting manually with either the stick or the paddles and only when shifting between 3 - 4k rpm. Sounds like clutches.

Take it back, get them to fix it. No need to self-diagnose if the car is under warranty (unless they're refuting your claim).

Is driving hard in Manual shifting between 3 and 4k rpm?

Agreed, under warranty ..... take it back to Dealer and make sure you take technician with you to recreate issue.

I have 2014 Polo gti and clutches were changed. A friend of mine same thing. We did not have knocking noise. We had "lag" when it changes

Please note that when driving the polo gti / tdi and 1.2 in manual mode the gear box characteristics change to sport mode resulting in harder shifts and more of a mechanical feel to it. This also results in some noises.

Any repairs done to the car will result in a warranty rejection and the same rezults az before. Vw ag is working on a solution.

Same as when a update is done on the oldet 1.4 polo gti the gear shift indicator in the cluster will not show.

The boxs work. Vw are on top of field monitoring. If u put claim in the contact you or mail u withing like 4pm in to get information on the rep or complaint.

This design is mechanically flawed , hoped the revised model will have a stronger clutch pack and better mechatronics box.

6c polo dsg dont give us problems hence the strict field monitoring by vw.

I have the 2016 polo gti 1.8 DSG.
Mine also goes into gearbox emergency mode but then only has 2nd 4th and 6th gear the knocking noise you hear is the box changing from an even number (2) to an uneven number gear (3) thats how DSG work. I went through 2 gearboxes but still not resolved.
