TT Build with big turbo

Post by 1hotTT »

Hi,

I have been registered on this forum years ago and simply forgot my details, so sorry but heres my new build and need some help:

Current Build: MK1 Audi TT Quattro 1.8T
Pistons: Carrillo 83mm Bore 9.5:1
Conrods: Manley 144mm ARP 2000 Bolts
Crankshaft: Forged 2.0l
Pulley: Fluidamper
Flywheel: Clutch Masters FS440 lightened solid steel and 6 Puck Clutch kit
Bearings: ACL RACE
Bolts: ARP head studs, crank pulley bolt and flywheel bolts
Head: AEG Big port Stage 3+
Valve train: Full Supertech 1mm oversize In and EXH + springs retainers and single groove cotters
Cams: Shrick 250 260
Injectors: 1000cc FIC matched
Fuel Pump: DW 265l/h
Devils Own stage 2 W/M
Custom made intake and exhaust..........All on E85 Ethanol obviously!!

We building his car to make about 600hp for quarter mile but this is my dilemma

Cant find a decent turbo or lets say supplier.

All my parts were acquired from a very good friend in the states at a very good price but a turbo would cost over R25k for a GTX3582r!!

Are there any other suppliers for this turbo here?

Many thanks for your replies

Wow, awesome grocery list you have there.

You should consider a Precision or even Holset. Both have local suppliers.

Thanks for all the informative replies,

Ferrolli also recommended Holset but wanted to be different as I already purchased quite a few turbos From Kinugawa/Kamak and the quality seems to be very good but only has bush bearings. However I asked them to build me a custom TD06H turbine with a Billet 82 (Garrett) wheel and they said it cant be done :???:

Seems the JP turbos also utilize the Garrett billet wheels or at least the technology, so something to look at.

The TT's are in no way a rare car as Gumtree has loads of 1.8T 6 speed Quattro's for cheap lol
I purchase mine in excellent condition with 150 000km for R70k and yes it is an excellent base for a toy, don't know why more peeps don't make em hot lol

Will post pics soon the block has been sent to engineers for rebore to 83mm with 0.004" PWC then the assembly will be balanced and blueprinted by a very reputable engine builder.
