Cam / crank pos sensor - incorrect allocation

Post by Hitesh25 »

Hi guys :hi:

So I have a Polo GTI 1.8T (BJX). The cam belt snapped recently so I redone everything. But now it's idling very rough and like got a misfire. I took it to VW to get logged and the following error codes came up: :bang:

16420 P0036 035 - O2 SENSOR HEATER CONTR. CIRC (BANK1(1)SENSOR 2) - static :fear:
17748 P1340 035 - CAMSHAFT POS./CRANKSHAFT POS SENSOR- INCORRECT ALLOCATION - static
16684 P0300 035 - RANDOM/MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE DETECTED - static
16685 P0301 035 - CYL.1 MISFIRE DETECTED - static

Can someone please explain to me what "cam/crank pos sensor incorrect allocation" means?
And which lambda sensor should i replace? and will the cam/crank sensor cause a misfire?

Thanks guys...happy shifting :driving:

Are you sure you got the cam timing and engine timing correct?

Get the cam gear checked...
The tooth that guides the gear on the cam shaft tends to break with a cambelt snap

Hi. I have the same issue and my diagnostic shows that my timing is between 7 to 7.5°BTDC. Could this still be the Cam/Crank pulley if the timing is spot on????

Cam timing is not in the correct position. Crank sensor and cam position sensor not in the correct allocation position.
