Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Hi guys I recently purchased a 2014 1.2 TSI DSG.
I didn't appreciate the standard 16" rims and replaced it with a 17"... Now the car looks like a 4x4
Anyways I want to purchase a proper lowering kit for the car approved by VW if possible.
A slight drop and nothing crazy...
Any suggestions would be welcomed...

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Hey bud,
I got my lowering kit from VW direct.
They sell an Eibach kit which is basically just 30mm drop.
This is available for the pre-facelift 6R Polos.
Maybe give VW a call and find out if they have for the new TSI's

Around R2k
There are different kits for the different variants of Polo to acomodate the weight difference so ensure you get the correct spec.

I was also slightly worried but when I saw the leap of performance vs a friends 1.6 triptronic all concern disappeared...

Latest price according to benoni Citi is R2228 , and it an OEM german component, contacted VWSA first said they have no such thing but two days later told me it is available and are looking to who covers warranty (Should be them if its there own component)

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Think it does as the only differences are really just down to dampers, its expensive to redesign the whole set up, so most manufacturers just beef up the normal components , springs and spring rates.vwpolow wrote:Does the gti springs fit on the other models?

I am very happy with the package as it gave me comfort and a sporty look, wasn't trying to go lower then 25mm. The drive on the car has improved.

Looks tops , by any chance is that Benoni citi dealer I see there ? What was your price with fitment ? Really does give it that sporty stance without compromise.

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
It was Strydom Park VW and fortunately my friend knows the Service Manager, I paid R650 and my warranty and service plan are all still intact.
The car got a Polo GTI look, also adding the rim makes takes from a sensible economical car to a flashy sporty one...

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Worth it on a new vehicle , all the look and no loss of warranty , just asked about the dealer saw the big Unitrans sign, got a big discount because of that.

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Iv been looking around for decent lowering kit for my 6r.. I still have the standard 15inch rims, im scared to fit anything bigger cos its only a 1.4 and a bit of a donkey.. I popped a set of18z on for a weekend cos was getting my rims sprayed n practically i had to stay in 4th gear to stay at 120 on the hiway lol.. So im a bit sceptical on what to get, i think the 25mm maybe too little and worried that coiliesare abit of over kill? Any thoughts guys?

Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Its mostly a gain in ratio that makes the car seem so highly geared, would go with the VW Springs if you still have warranty, and plus you know its built to OEM spec. You can go 17's but has to be light alloys(remember profile of the tyre also affects gearing). Lots of Warrior Editions had this suspension with the 17's fitted stock on the 1.4 Polo 6Rvwpolow wrote:Iv been looking around for decent lowering kit for my 6r.. Re: Lowering kit Polo 1.2 TSI
Running 17s on my 1.4 and not experiencing drop in power. Granted I am running OEM BBS wheels, which are probably a little lighter.
A word of warning. As much as you think you will be happy, once you get a taste of low, you will always wanr more.

i know this is a bit of a revival but i would like to know, how did the ride feel after the drop and the 17's vs the stock 16's and stock springs?
