New Focus ST vs GTI 7 perfomance

Oh Gawd....

Focus ST3 was about 30whp down from a GTI7.
so the 184kw is a lie, well in SA with our fuel.

In fact, these new ST's are making the same wheel power as the previous ST's (166kw)

What I do not understand is that the power is quoted in SAE standards, so somewhere something isn't adding up.

As Polony said. VW/Audi are making the claimed KW's on the fly at the wheels.. so yes they are conservative with power claims.

The 7 is a really quick car, miles faster than an ST. However I think it's its build quality and refinement that makes this choice a no brainer.
