At the coast here. 3-5kw with 8-10NM extra with ITBs with same motor and no changes. For price wit power not it. Have 2 go bigger cam and head work for the ITB to work well

Also, I've heard Panic mention that 40mm itb's work very well up here on the highveld. I've heard guys mention that down at the coast the 43/45mm throttles seem to yield good results. But as mentioned before, you need a big cam, and decent headwork to get the most out of the throttles. And then you throw a spanner in the works, as I've seen Sarel Eloff building some strong 8V's, and IIRC he's using 43 or 45mm throttles. Viper and 308WIN are running 45mm throttles and that thing is a monster. IIRC Dono82 is running 45mm sidedraughts on his car, and they're all up on the highveld. So I think you can make them work well, with the right info and mods. :hi:

Once upon a time i had a 1900 8v on 38mm ITS's it was magic!

I had started with 43mm Toyota ones and then 40's and then 38's

Throttles work if setup correctly!

but smaller throttles are better for the highveld.. So don't go for 45mm throttles unless you have a strong 16v..

I'd say first step is management, The PO of my MK1 gained 26hp ATW with a better management system and exhaust on the same motor, same dyno..

I cannot stress this enough, if you aren't going to use high rpm and/or a high duration camshaft, ITB's aren't going to do much...

You hit the nail on the head with those words. Throttles work but you have to spend alot of money to gain any benefits!

You might get away with 40's, I had a 260/270 cam setup on 45's and it was way below potential but still fun...

I think Even 288 will be fine for 40mm, Just need a proper flow job on the head..

Will eventually try it and let you guys know..

Lol. With the correct supporting mods you will make more power. But by just adding it on without out the correct amount of head work and with std cr the gains would be minimal if anny.
